Arguments Proving the Bible is the Embodiment of a Divine Revelation

The A Priori Argument

Man is in a most desperate condition because of Adamís sin. Man is inclined away from God, ignorant of Godís purposes and methods of salvation and incapable of returning to God in His own strength. God is love, omnipotent, righteous and just as well as holy, omniscient, loving and kind and omnipresent.

Therefore, it is not reasonable that a God Who is love would leave man in such a desperate condition and not give him a guide that would reveal to him

  1. Knowledge of God.
  2. Knowledge of Godís plan for man.
  3. Knowledge of how man became alienated from God.
  4. Knowledge of how to be reconciled to God.

This guide for man is the Bible. It is a written revelation of God. Godís omnipotence makes its production possible. Godís omniscience enables its content. Godís holiness justifies its necessity. Godís righteousness and justice assures its inerrancy.

Scriptural examples1 of the A Priori Argument

  1. ďYou search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life and they are they which testify of Me.Ē John 5:39.
  2. ďNow all these things happened to them as examples and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.Ē 1 Corinthians 10:11.
  3. ďAll Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.Ē 2 Timothy 3:16,17.
