Accept Jesus

"...Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature..." Mark 16:15

Accept Jesus...

What does it mean to receive Jesus Christ as one's personal Savior and Lord?

Receiving Jesus Christ as one's personal Savior and Lord means to be be reconciled to or brought back into a relationship with God

"Now then, we [Christians] are ambassadors for Christ, a though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He [God] made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us [mankind], that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5:20,21

Jesus is the ONLY way to God!

Why do I need to be reconciled to God?

Mankind's relationship with God was severed as a result of Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden. God instructed Adam, the first man, not to eat of the tree in the midst of the garden. (Genesis 2:6,17) Unfortunately, Adam did not follow God's instructions. He ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. When he did this, his relationship with God was destroyed. In addition to this, the relationship between God and Adam's offspring (mankind) was also destroyed.

Fortunately, God was not satisfied with this broken relationship. So He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the earth to pay the price of Adam's sin and the sin of Adam's offspring.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotton Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

How did Jesus pay the price for sin?

Jesus suffered death by crucifixion at the hands of Roman soldiers. God accepted His death as payment for Adam's sin and mankind's sin. However, because Jesus had committed no sin, God raised Him from the dead. Jesus is alive forever more!

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me." Revelation 3:20.

How do I receive Jesus as Savior and Lord?

To receive Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, pray this prayer:

"Jesus, I accept Your death at Calvary on my behalf. In return, I give You my life to live as You command. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and live forever more. Amen."

"For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:10
